ABOUT CHRIST OUR LIFE CHURCH
Christ Our Life Church of Linwood, is devoted to the worship of GOD ALONE, so that HE is pleased with His people in Christ!
It is our aim to glorify THE LORD with the words of our mouth and the meditations of our heart. We seek to be true to THE BIBLE!
A broken spirit and a contrite heart, He will not despise.
We are a small group of blood bought, blood washed, born again believers and followers of KING JESUS!
Our rich reformed heritage is rooted not merely in historical origins, but more importantly and fundamentally in GOD’S HOLY WORD, THE BIBLE!
Our principles and practices are ACCORDING TO THE SCRIPTURES and our form of church government is based on our subjection to CHRIST AS THE HEAD OF THE CHURCH. It is by CHRIST’S called and qualified local church leaders, whose two offices are held as elders and deacons, that these men must have and display the character and conduct of CHRIST! Our local church is therefore regulated by the form of church government revealed in The New Testament, known as presbyterianism.
IT IS OUR FIRM BELIEF AND PRACTICE THAT NO HUMAN BEING NEEDS ANYTHING OR ANYONE TO PROTECT THEM FROM THE BIBLE!
No church, no denomination, no systematic theology, no scholar, no theologian, no pastor, no teacher, no parent, no creed, no hermeneutic, no catechism, no confessions, nothing and no one needs a man-made filter through which to pass THE PURE WATER OF THE WORD OF GOD!
We are all taught of GOD by the ministry of THE HOLY SPIRIT; Who is our Teacher.
We are all told by GOD to study The Scriptures, to show our-self approved, so as to not be ashamed, accurately handling THE WORD OF TRUTH!
Now these (the Bereans), were more noble-minded than those in Thessalonica, for they received the word with great eagerness, examining the Scriptures daily to see whether these things were so.

MATTHEW 11:1-19
1 When Jesus had finished giving instructions to His twelve disciples, He departed from there to teach and preach in their cities.
2 Now when John, while imprisoned, heard of the works of Christ, he sent word by his disciples 3 and said to Him, “Are You the Expected One, or shall we look for someone else?” 4 Jesus answered and said to them, “Go and report to John what you hear and see: 5 the BLIND RECEIVE SIGHT and the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed and the deaf hear, the dead are raised up, and the POOR HAVE THE GOSPEL PREACHED TO THEM. 6 And blessed is he who does not take offense at Me.”
7 As these men were going away, Jesus began to speak to the crowds about John, “What did you go out into the wilderness to see? A reed shaken by the wind? 8 But what did you go out to see? A man dressed in soft clothing? Those who wear soft clothing are in kings’ palaces! 9 But what did you go out to see? A prophet? Yes, I tell you, and one who is more than a prophet. 10 This is the one about whom it is written,
‘BEHOLD, I SEND MY MESSENGER AHEAD OF YOU,
WHO WILL PREPARE YOUR WAY BEFORE YOU.’
11 Truly I say to you, among those born of women there has not arisen anyone greater than John the Baptist! Yet the one who is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he. 12 From the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffers violence, and violent men take it by force. 13 For all the prophets and the Law prophesied until John. 14 And if you are willing to accept it, John himself is Elijah who was to come. 15 He who has ears to hear, let him hear.
16 “But to what shall I compare this generation? It is like children sitting in the market places, who call out to the other children, 17 and say, ‘We played the flute for you, and you did not dance; we sang a dirge, and you did not mourn.’ 18 For John came neither eating nor drinking, and they say, ‘He has a demon!’ 19 The Son of Man came eating and drinking, and they say, ‘Behold, a gluttonous man and a drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and sinners!’ Yet wisdom is vindicated by her deeds.”

In our so-called “post-modern” world, people are interested in THE VISIBLE much more than THE VERBAL forms of information and communication! BUT GOD did not have HIS REVELATION recorded for the human race in sound bites, or terabytes! Much less did GOD WILL to reveal Himself in motion pictures or virtual reality media. GOD CHOSE to REVEAL HIMSELF in a BOOK! The Bible, from Genesis to Revelation this is GOD’S HOLY, INSPIRED WORD to mankind!
Now, while GOD has CREATED a very VISUAL WORLD for us all to behold with awe and wonder – so too has GOD COMMANDED for men of old to WRITE THE WORDS OF GOD to be beheld in a BOOK, so that we will also be filled with awe and wonder to HEAR GOD SPEAK!
In every generation people have had more interest in looking at other people do things, and/or watching an event where things out of the ordinary happen.
BUT GOD has had the design and given the decree that men of GOD reveal the meaning of GOD’S WRITTEN WORD, The Bible, by PREACHING and TEACHING what GOD MEANS by what GOD SAYS, “According to The Scriptures!
